More foundation work in June
Here's another shot of the block wall building, concrete later poured into the forms to make the wall.
Foundation - footings

Little out of order - here are the footings. Note the big one in the middle (left side) - that's the one the centre king truss column sits on and next to it (right side) is the also very big one for the future potential masonry Scandinavian (maybe Tempcast) radiant wood stove....that's if we are flush with $$$ at the end of the project, which even at this point is not looking very likely. So this is an idea to park for the future. Otherwise footings went in nicely and steady as she goes.

Back to Blind River - circle of stones marks the spot

Here is Bob in May 2008 sitting in the circle of boulders dug out of one of the 8 dry well test holes in 2007 by Buck on the excavator. He set them nicely in a circle around the old apple tree that unfortunately had to be taken down (not popular with the bears and deer....). This marks where we want to position the house. Joseph came and laid out the optimum spot for drainage and facing due south (thanks Joe!). This is the beginning of the building saga at the site.
Eighth and final round at the log yard in August
Nearly the final round at Northern Comfort Log Homes site
First structure...you guessed it
